Fics like Till the Road and Sky Align

Adam's eyes met the man's in a fleeting moment, and stayed fixed there, magnetized. He was tall, and he wore an expensive-looking coat. His eyes were a deep, crystal blue, wrinkled lightly at the corners as if someone had just told him a joke. They held Adam's gaze with a curiosity that verged on recognition. His mouth was quizzical, on a knife's edge of smiling. Adam felt suddenly as if all the breath had been knocked out of him. --- Adam Faulkner-Stanheight knew his own worth- that is to say, little-to-none. His girlfriend? Frustrated with him for wasting his life. His job? A complete dead end, working retail in December. His photography? Just a hobby, and one he was afraid to really pursue for fear of failing. And then Dr. Lawrence Gordon walked into his life, sending his world into a tailspin with his understanding smile, soft voice, incisive words, and the kindest eyes Adam had ever seen. What Adam thought would be one more mindnumbing holiday shift brought a chance encounter that would change his life- for better or for worse.
