Fics like fake it till you make it

“We should get married,” Carlos says, glancing fleetingly over the frame of his glasses at TK. Within a second, he’s looking back at his book, his finger toying with the corner of the next page as if he didn’t just drop that bomb. His tone is casual; that’s what hits TK. He might as well have shrugged with it as if to say “eh, whatever” when TK doesn’t think his heart has ever beat this hard and fast. It’s racing. It would be impossible to count because it’s practically thudding at the speed of light, but he sits next to his best friend on the sofa, his legs thrown over Carlos’ lap and a blanket over them both, and pretends this is completely normal. — in which Carlos suggests marriage to his best friend with a whole host of logical reasons and TK can't seem to say no. A fake marriage journey.
