Fics like Drowning Slowly in Silence

Ace is a liar. That’s a fact and he knows it. He lies about the littlest things, like that one time where he said he wanted to help Trey when in reality he was trying to get a favor out of him. He lies about the normal things too, like when he was worried about Yuu and Grim during winter break—he said he wanted to help them out of boredom instead. But the biggest thing he lies about is himself. Even this persona of a liar is a lie in itself. Even if he’s quite good at twisting the truth to make things work for himself with little effort, it’s not like Ace really wants this. It just…feels like this is how it should be. It’s just easier to act like nothing matters when everything actually does, to act like he’s unbothered when he’s truly more sensitive than he makes himself out to be. Vulnerability feels like a weakness—one that would absolutely destroy him if he lets it out even once.
