Fics like blackened steel

“The Colonel was nothing but a curved line of rain-soaked blue huddling over Edward, who was more puddle than boy. Edward was splayed against the brick, head lolling, damp hair matting against his face. The boot on his metal foot had melted and warped, revealing blackened steel toes behind the curling leather. ‘Major!’ Riza called, selfishly, because she was only hoping she could somehow snap him out of the daze he was clearly in. That was a useless hope. Edward needed an ambulance more than anything.” or: Riza and Roy, objectively speaking, are not the best parental figures. Nor are they the best at emotions.
