Fics like sure as stars are in the sky

Eddie’s got the window cranked down, the radio turned up—the speakers are long past blown, so it’s all tinny and crackly and it doesn’t even matter, because it’s so Eddie it makes him feel fond, it doesn’t even make Steve’s head ring anymore—like after all these years even his poor too-often-banged-up brain has shifted to accommodate the tiniest, sweetest, seediest, most irritating and endearing nuances alike, all that makes up the man he loves. Who he’s gonna spend the rest of all his days with. And fucking love every second of it. “Change the station for me, babe?” Steve glances over, takes in the profile of his partner cast in the gold of a playful afternoon sun before frowning. Change the station. Change the station? But…but. But it’s Ozzy. — Or: it’s weird, how Eddie suddenly doesn’t want to listen to his favorite musician. But then: it’s not the only weird thing. It’s…more than that. What more it is, however: hell if Steve knows. But this is the love of his life. His partner of ten fucking years. He’s sure as shit gonna figure it out.
