Fics like Return of the King
Steve wasn’t an idiot. He knows there’s only so much a black t-shirt can do to help him blend in at one of Eddie’s shows. He wishes that his old and clearly well worn Corroded Coffin shirt could be enough to prove he belongs. Wishes it was like a little neon sign pointing to him that says, ‘Hey, I very much deserve to be here. In fact, I’ve actually been here a lot longer than any of you have.’ But no it doesn’t work that way. - - - Or, Steve gets tired of being judged by Eddie’s fans, and King Steve puts them in their place.
