Fics like In our hearts a hopeful song

Jack has all the freedom and none of the security. And Davey is jealous. Learning to throw a punch won’t fix this. Becoming a writer won’t fix this. This is Davey’s, his whole life. Familial expectations, familial duties. Jack doesn’t change a thing. So, Davey packs it away. Boxes it up tight, ships it to the North Pole, and lets it go. He tries to enjoy this, his friend over for dinner, everyone happy and smiling. He succeeds, he thinks.
