It’s still dark out when she’s awoken by the sound of breaking twigs. Her heart skips, body going heavy with shock, thoughts of spirits and scorned women of centuries ago filling her head as she struggles to keep her breathing even, unsure how it is that she’s been awoken, but now that she is, she isn’t sure she’ll be able to go back to sleep. Why didn’t she take Genya’s offer to sleep together in her tent? Her throat goes tight at the sound of snuffling, deep inhales and sharp exhales that she swears are just over her tent. A much belated fill for the prompt: Eldritch horror meets Final Girl
