MK had always wanted to meet his Dad. Sure, the stories don’t write MK’s mother, the Six Eared Macaque, in the best lighting, but that’s got to be a misunderstanding, right? After all, MK wouldn’t exist if his parents really were such bad enemies! And, if nothing else, surely the Monkey King would help MK and his Mom avoid the Lady Bone Demon. She was a scary lady who kept threatening them to "pay their debt” (whatever that was), and MK rather risk meeting his father than let LBD trap them without a fight. It'd work out, right?
