Fics like The Great Protector

The kid gets a little pale, pressing his lips together and looking down to his lap. He shrugs after a moment, smiling a little. “I’m Mr. Stark’s intern. That’s the only reason why.” “I just didn’t think he’d hire high school kids for internships.” “It was through the September Foundation. He liked my application.” - Or, David has been working on the security team of Stark Industries for four years when he gets the call one morning that he's needed to replace Happy Hogan in the very strange, mundane task of picking up a teenage boy from school in Queens. Things get really off-track when David and said teenage boy are kidnapped, but it's fine. Everything is fine. David's job depends on everything, especially the unknown kid, being perfectly okay by the end of this.
