"Are you awake, Dad?" He asked across the darkness. I flicked my bedside light on and patted the spot next to my bed, ushering him over. Jimmy was precious to me, and I would always make time for him. He was growing up so fast, especially in the last couple of months. I am pretty sure he has hit a growth spurt too, though sometimes when he talks, I swear I still hear his mother's voice. He got his brown hair and eyes from me, but his questioning nature from his mom. He was my boy through and through. I would defend the earth for him.
