Fics like 'tis the damn season

“What,” Eddie blows out a long breath as he looks up at Chimney, “do I just say screw it and as soon as he walks up here I ask Hey Buck want to be my date to the Fireman’s Ball?” Chimney’s eyes go, suddenly, comically wide and Eddie swallows the lump (most definitely his heart) in his throat as he slowly shifts in his chair, turning to see what Chimney is looking at. There, standing just at the top of the stairs in his hoodie, sweatpants, and fucking socks and slides of all things is Buck, yawning tiredly and running his hand through his sleep-soft curls. “Be your what for the what?” Buck asks, blinking bleary blue eyes before he beelines towards the coffee machine which Eddie hadn’t noticed was beeping until now. “Eddie’s date,” Chimney, the fucking traitor repeats, with a smug smile loud enough for Buck to hear, “to the Fireman’s Ball.” [or Eddie asks Buck to the Holiday Fireman's Ball. It goes so much better than he could ever imagine.]
