Fics like lay my curses out to rest (make a mercy out of me)
In the aftermath of Tiadrin and Lain’s desertion, judgment is cast upon their teenage daughter, Rayla. As punishment for their crimes, she will be cast out of Xadia, never to return. As a final act of kindness, she is given an illusion that will disguise her as human for six months, plenty of time to reach the Moon Nexus hidden somewhere in Katolis. Four months later, Runaan reaches the Moon Nexus with a group of assassins on their way to carry out a mission against King Harrow. Only to learn that Rayla never made it.
