Fics like Your Friend Forever

The woman in charge spotted Tim and lit him up before he was even within speaking distance. “What the hell is one of your people doing walking into my operation?” she demanded. “She blew the whole thing. I nearly lost one of my people.” She waved a hand in the direction of a woman so young and short that she looked like a child. “Why the hell didn’t you notify the LAPD of the op?” Tim fired back. “We were responding to a fucking noise complaint and now I’ve got an officer headed to the hospital.” The woman’s face softened a moment. “The morgue. An armor piercing round tore through her vest. She may be headed to the hospital, but she’ll end up in the morgue.” Tim’s world went black. All he could hear was ringing in his ears. Then it cleared and he was facing the woman whose sloppiness had just cost Lucy her life. He lunged for her.
