Fics like our insignificance in nature

“The stars really are the greatest reminder of how our actions have no consequence in the grand scheme of things. Even tonight; I kill you, the love of your life suffocates in that barrel—” Tim’s heart clenches. “—maybe it means something to you, to your friends, to your little sister, sure, but outside of here? Beyond your precious city? Out there in the universe? Not even a blip. The world keeps turning, the planets stay in their paths of orbit. The stars aren’t moved by your loss, but aren’t they beautiful all the same?” Or: A certain redhead pulled the strings behind the attacks on the officers of Mid-Wilshire, and Tim and Lucy suffer the consequences. 522 canon divergence.
