Fics like Crying Wolf

“I just wanted to report that due to the revelations of your genetic modifications, you have been withdrawn from consideration for the LMH program,” Zimmerman announces, rocking on his heels. “Yes, thank you, I gathered as much,” Julian says. “As such, there’s no reason for me to keep this,” Doctor Zimmerman says, and produces a datarod. “Character interviews; completely worthless now. You might as well have them.” Julian blinks, thrown off balance. “Thank you?” he tries, taking the datarod. Zimmerman just shrugs. “There’s nothing to thank me for,” he says. “They’re simply of no use to me.” And without another word, he continues onto his transport. — Reeling from the revelation of his genetic enhancements, Julian is presented with a temptation: the unfiltered opinions of his friends and coworkers. Of course he's going to look - and in so doing, he discovers an interview he wasn't expecting: one Elim Garak. The only thing even more surprising is what Garak has to say.
