The walls, clattering downward in a wave as each lost stone knocked loose another. Books, shelves, desks, indeterminate objects blurring in midair, falling like missiles. Her home, her Babel, her tower, falling. -- Lettie sees the fall of Babel and the rise of Hermes. She still can't admit she's not the victim.
