Fics like that little light was closing in (and suddenly, i'm falling).

Tommy bites his tongue, frozen in place. Maybe it’ll wander away soon enough and Tommy can escape. If it can’t see, maybe it doesn’t know--- “I hear you,” the creature rumbles, piercing Tommy’s gut with fear. He stiffens further. “I hear your little heartbeat.” Tommy doesn’t answer. His heart is beating heavily in his chest, yes, but he can’t make it stop. He’s about to die. “I’m not going to hurt you,” the monster sighs. “It’s weird, cause I usually wanna kill everything, but I don’t want to kill you.” There’s a silence, in which Tommy thinks he should respond. Would the creature be offended if he didn’t and take back his generosity? “Thank you,” Tommy squeaks out, back still pressed against the cracked pillar. --- Tommy gets exiled into the deep dark. He ends up finding everything he's been missing.
