Fics like Waking up slow

A reimagining of season 6 where Buffy and Spike continue to grow closer since her return, unbeknownst to the rest of the Scoobies, only for it all to go to hell when Willow does another spell. “Am I like you?” Buffy asked suddenly and the look she gave Spike floored him. “A vampire?” He asked when she didn’t elaborate further. “Dead,” she clarified with no hint of emotion. “Undead,” she looked away. “No,” he said firmly and her head shot up to look at him. “You don’t smell like it, for one. Also, I can hear your heart beating from over here.” Spike clamped his mouth shut, worried she’d somehow know the effect hearing it again was having on him. Buffy’s brow creased as she took on board what he said. “Tell me this isn’t what you’ve been thinking?” He asked in surprise when she didn’t respond.
