Fics like landslide

“You okay?” Mike asks him. Will turns to look at Mike. The light of the TV is projected on the side of his face, bathing his skin in greens and oranges. Sometimes Will feels like the secret to digging himself out of the wreckage of his childhood is hidden in Mike. There are days when the only thing that can dull the sharp pressure of grief in his ribs is Mike’s presence at his side; steady, thrumming. Will knows the day when he will have to detach himself is coming fast, but here in this basement, where nothing has changed in over a decade, time seems to have come to a screeching halt. It’s just the two of them, sat in the last place they were innocent together. “Yeah,” Will whispers, “I’m okay.” or; The Party's senior year of high school, in ebbs and flows.
