Fics like The Other Candidate

Every one thousand years, two souls are chosen to fight to the death. The victor becomes the millennium's new Grim Reaper. Charles and Erik are chosen. They were once lovers. Erik remembers their past, but Charles doesn't. Charles wonders why his opponent always looks so broken, but after a few incidents, the memories begin trickling back, and when Charles remembers everything... oh, it's too late.
