Fics like He's My Neighbor, Sir. (OLD)

The facility itself wasn’t the best place to be in, but the playroom on floor G was the best part of Tommy’s week. The 8-year old would always be on his best behavior throughout the tests so that the men in the white coats would take him to the room. Tommy learned later that it wasn’t normal for kids to have flowers and mushrooms growing out of his hair and hands, and that normal people couldn’t make flowers and mushrooms appear whenever they hold dirt, but that just made him special. It also wasn’t normal for children to be taken away from their parents to be tested on, but Tommy didn’t care. Tommy's play hour was nearly up when the banging started.
