Fics like 'Guy In The Chair'

In his subconscious mind, Ned had always perceived the world’s superheroes as invincible. Undefeatable. Just look at the Avengers. They took on the world’s worst of the worst, yet they never failed to come out on top. To reign victorious. So when Peter became Spider-Man, Ned didn’t even question it for a second. Never even thought to think about how dangerous the job would actually be. God, Peter put his life on the line every day and Ned didn’t even bat an eye! Hell, he basically encouraged it! But now, being here, trying desperately to keep his best friend from bleeding out in front of his very eyes, Ned thinks he may have reached a new understanding. Being a superhero wasn’t a game. It wasn’t something to glamorize or romanticize. In truth, it was harsh and serious and deadly. Or: When Peter is hurt on patrol, Ned Leeds is forced to rethink his role as Spider-Man's 'guy in the chair'. Set in the years between "Homecoming" and "Infinity War".
