Fics like Ultimate School Pick-Up

"Well all the symptoms add up, Peter! And you know what they add up to? Death. You are right on track for death." He lays a sympathetic hand on Peter's shoulder, looking at him as if Death already has him twisted in its slimy, meaty fist. Ned takes Peter in, committing every feature to memory. After all, unless Ned can harness the power of God – or Tony Stark – then memory is one day all he'll have of Peter Benjamin Parker. Beloved nephew. Beloved friend. Taken from this world too soon. --- When Peter shows up to school looking a little worse for wear, his trusted Guy In The Chair comes to the obvious conclusion: the shady character from last night’s illicit patrol was none other than the infamous Mongolian Slasher. His weapon of choice? Poisoned blades. Peter is on his deathbed. So when his best friend refuses to see reason, Ned does what any good Guy In the Chair would do: he calls in the big guns. All of them.
