Fics like Icarus, You're Falling

As Tommy falls he grips at the flames. The sting in his palm is nothing compared to fear of the quickly approaching pavement. Tommy looks on at the clouds, his hand blocking out the sun. There's a bitter coolness that spreads over his body because it is, so, beautiful. As the sun sets and the clouds pinken, Tommy feels an odd concoction of pure Terror and bitter calm. It mixes into his body giving the experience a sort of euphoria, like this is the only place he could have ended up. This is where every path would have led him. Falling, plummeting, to the ground, His feathers burning up. Or, Tommy is an unnamed, avian, vigilante who is lowkey winning over the affection of the top 3 heroes, slowly but surely. Fighting crime proves to be pretty hard alone. Or or, author is sad and hyperfixiating.
