Fics like I Played My Own Tune On Your Great War Drum (But the Melody Remains the Same)

In most universes, the war that brings the Empire into power is called the Clone Wars. The clones, men created to fight and die and annihilate the Jedi, are made in the labs of the Kaminoans and based on the DNA of notorious Jedi-killer Jango Fett. But in a universe where Kaminoans are not cloners perhaps, but are still skilled geneticists, the Mutant Wars are every bit as devastating. (Children go missing across the galaxy in the years before the war. The Jedi scramble to find the missing children, but don’t manage to until over a decade later.) (Of course, when Obi-wan Kenobi first steps foot onto one of the raised cities of Kamino, he doesn’t quite realize what he’s found.) or: “Oh for kark’s sake!” Veers hisses, scooping General Kenobi’s lightsaber up from the dirt of Utapau. “Where’s the General?” he barks. “Ah… on the platform with Grievous, Commander,” says Jixton. Veers sighs. He stares at the platform for a long moment. “Kark it.” Then he proceeds to attach Kenobi’s saber to his blaster like a bayonet and charge into the advancing waves of droids.
