Fics like A Shout Of Joy At The Only Shrine

Once, It was worshipped as a divine being. Once, It was exalted and proclaimed. Before being consigned to a millennia-long prison. Before being buried in mud and ash. Before being found and rescued by the most unlikely of heroes. Jack and Janet Drake bring home an artifact that they really should have checked first, and through their negligence end up leading to an ancient evil being unleashed. Tim knows he shouldn't talk to the voices in his head, but he's so lonely. And when he's given the chance to do something for his first and only friend, he'll do anything to pay back her kindness. All of these are related. The 'how' is the interesting part.
