The first time is unexpected but convenient. It's fun. Eddie's still technically married, and they're just learning how to become friends. The second time is comfortable but exciting. It's warm. They're best friends, and Buck starts to believe they can maybe become something more. The third time is inevitable but convulsive. It's heartbreaking. They're further apart than they've ever been, but Buck's heart is in it all the way. (or Buck and Eddie try being friends with benefits three times during the course of their friendship. It works and it doesn't.)
