Fics like I picture it, soft, and I ache

“I think I love her,” Ennis doesn’t look up but Jack can see a smile take over his face. “That’s great,” Jack says automatically, letting a smile play across his lips. But in reality his heart feels like it’s about to burst and he doesn’t know why. — Friends since childhood, Jack and Ennis are closer than anything. That is until Jack comes out as gay and suddenly, Ennis is making excuses to stay away from him. Things are further complicated when he realizes his feelings for his friend are much more than friendly. Jack is drowning in the stress of keeping it down and the only time he can get a breath of air is in his short moments with Ennis.
