Fics like A Throne of Embers and Bone.

Book Two of the ‘If You Met Me First’ trilogy. ~~~~ “Mariana was there and her eyes were red… and you mentioned Rheya by name. The child dies at some point between now and the day those events could potentially take place.” Anastasia nodded tightly. “The child must die.” “Which means there’s going to be another Bloodkeeper— will she be as powerful as you?” She’d known Annie long enough to know what she looked like when she was afraid. For more than a thousand years Anastasia hadn’t been afraid of anyone… so it made sense that the only thing that truly frightened her was the thought of someone having the same sort of power she did. “Yes. I think so.” “Rheya—“ “I will be the one to kill her. When the time comes I’ll be strong enough to wield her power along with my own— Mariana would never be able to handle it. The threat a child vampire with that sort of power would pose would be…” “Apocalyptic,” she gulped. “We couldn’t allow her to live with that sort of power.” “It has to be me that ends this— the prophecy was about me. She may become something similar but I won’t let her be the one to shoulder the burden of starting the world over.”
