Wooyoung connects the dots, his eyes making sense of the shapes in the darkness. There’s a boy huddled in the alleyway, curled as tight as he can get against a garbage can, his red rimmed eyes never leaving Wooyoung as he cowers. Wooyoung takes inventory of the pointed ears standing tall on his head, the long tail that swishes through the puddles on the concrete in warning, the midnight fur covering it and his ears that matches the hair dripping over his forehead. He’s a hybrid, and he’s soaking wet, trembling. Wooyoung turns and scans the street, but there’s not a soul in sight, just deserted sidewalks and pouring rain. He turns back to the hybrid. “Are you okay?” His voice is drowned out by the storm, but the boy’s ear twitches regardless. Only silence, green eyes, the sky crackling in white light, endless rain.
