Fics like rent a friend

“I would like to hire you for a regular job.” Over the phone, Seonghwa sounds polite and firm. He goes on explaining the details of what he wants: someone to hang out with him every week for two hours, to accompany him to the movies or museums sometimes, someone who’d remember his birthday and get him a thoughtful gift (he’d deposit extra money for the occasion), to share a few of his interests. He wants a friend. A friend. --- [ hongjoong, a college student, works as a friend for rent to make ends meet, and seonghwa, a very lonely man, hires him to emulate what he believes to be a normal friendship. ]
