Fics like Learning to Live

Tommy sits at the edge of his screaming station, staring down into the lava. The rickety log he sits on hangs precariously off the cliff side, but it does not matter. Nothing does. His gaze is blank as he watches bright orange bubbles pop down below. It’s fascinating. It’s entrancing. He’s unable to pull himself away from it. It can take hours for him to leave sometimes. This is not his first time here. It’s not his fifth time, or even his tenth time. He leans forward a little, wondering what wound happen if he just... slipped in. “Tommy?” He flinches, leaning back from the edge. He turns. There behind him, her woolly white hair already greying from ash, is Puffy. or Tommy spends too much time staring at lava. He gets sort-of therapy (although its more just support and love), and he finds himself pulling away from the lava and learning what it means to live again. A Tommy healing fic.
