Fics like Under the Mountain

Magdalen had lived most of her life in daydreams. The world had been cruel to her since she was born. So she often found the fantasy worlds in her mind were far more exciting- and far less depressing- than her own world. But when her grandfather died she quietly packed away her fantastic adventures to focus on reality. On the sixth anniversary of his death, all Magdalen Kathan wanted to forget. Though after an encounter with a golden-handed man she finds herself in the place, she had always wanted to be: Middle Earth. However, it's not as she remembers it. Magdalen must face cruel princes, stubborn kings, and duplicitous lords in order to figure out who she is and what her place in the story of Middle Earth is.
