Fics like small impressions on his heart

"I think it would kill me," Luca says after a while, quiet but certain. Alberto can tell by his tone that he's not joking, and he props up on his elbows to listen while Luca rubs his thumbs together and stares up at the dappled sunlight that ripples over them as the waves go in and out, that warms the water all around them. "If I had to live like this all the time. Never going above the surface, never seeing anything of the world, never learning anything new, for the rest of my life? I really think it would kill me." Alberto doesn't know what to say. So he says, "Jeez, is that what you've been lying here thinking about?" / Alberto is trying so hard to move on, and to be better.
