Fics like Transphobia in the Omegaverse

The omegaverse is "a kink trope wherein some or all people have defined biological roles based on a hierarchical system," which closely resembles our own patriarchal system. However, these alphas and omegas can have a diversity of biological characteristics, creating an AU which seems to "de-queer the queer body" by making transmasculine and transfeminine bodies normative. But while it pretends to represent queer people--especially genderqueer, transmasculine people--the omegaverse actually relies on a system of biological essentialism that erases the existence of trans people altogether. The characters may look trans, but they are not trans. In fact, many of the common tropes of the omegaverse only reinforce harmful homophobic and transphobic stereotypes. All this author asks is that fans of the omegaverse read what I have to say and take it into consideration next time you read/write the omegaverse. Contents: 1. Introduction/why I am critiquing the omegaverse 2. My own experience with the omegaverse 3. The good of the omegaverse 4. The transphobia 5. What to do if you like the omegaverse and all its related kinks but don’t necessarily want to consume/produce it anymore
