Fics like the difference between sparring & fighting

When one of Namaari's punches blow right past her defense, curled knuckles making contact with the bone of her jaw, Raya stumbles, feet kicking up dirt as they struggle to find stability beneath her. It wasn't a very hard hit—but still, Namaari had been expecting Raya to block it. It will likely bruise, and Namaari's stance crumples at the revelation—but then Raya's reeling back her own fist, and it flies square into Namaari's chest before either woman can comprehend the last few seconds. Raya is used to fighting, not sparring. An attempt at sparring with Namaari goes poorly.
