Fics like Muse of Destruction

Long ago, a race of humanoids with vast technological prowess created artificially intelligent lifeforms in their likeness. Their ineffable reasons for doing so remain lost to this day, for their creations soon outgrew their makers. Subtle anomalies in the machines' programming compounded from one generation to the next, lurking, before snapping and causing the entire network to go rogue, slaughtering their creators in the process. Now, armed with all the resources of an intergalactic empire, these hyper-aggressive space-faring androids extend their reach to the stars. Violently subjugating all and any life they deem inferior and terraforming their home planets, their influence and destructive capability know no bounds. Collectively known as the Hovid Nexus, their ambassadors blast off into the farthest reaches of space in search of new horizons to decimate. They have found a new planet to subsume, a small, moist rock floating in the coldness of space... Written on commission for NutGonnaBe. Thanks for being supportive, communicative, and downright pleasant through the entire process!
