Fics like A Gaze of Raccoons

Tommy’s soaked and freezing. He’s missing a shoe, his hair is full of ice, his face and hands are blistered with burn scars. There’s a compass around his neck, a water-ruined photograph in his pocket. He’s so cold as he scans his surroundings, fearful, his teeth rattling behind purple, hypothermic lips. A rustling sound startles him: it might be a hungry animal or a half rotten zombie or, or-- Or a small child, who leaps out from the underbrush with silent, alleycat agility. She has pigtails under her stained baseball cap and her amber eyes glow in the moonlight. “He-hello?” His voice slurs with his shivering. Christ, she’s small. He’s never seen a kid so young surviving on their own. “My name’s Tommy.” She pauses, eyes narrowing. At last she breathes, “mine’s Clementine.” * Tommy escapes Exile, meets new Friend. No knowledge of TWDG needed for this crossover.
