Fics like Pieces of Heaven

Diarmute Week Day 5: Heaven It is still daytime. Not clear, but not cloudy, a kind of mottled blue. The sun’s rays still warm his skin. The waves are slow, peaceful, rhythmic, like a mother rocking her child to sleep. Out on the water, Diarmuid is safe. On the boat to Waterford. He will die happy, knowing that. And yet— --- As the Mute lays bleeding out on the beach he remembers snippets of his life, and, of course, thinks of Diarmuid.
