Fics like watching stars collide

Tohru sticks to lighting sparklers when they get down to the beach. The night is close to black, but one after another, the fireworks ignite the air with little peaks and valleys of light. Kyo kicks off his shoes and ends up sitting at the edge of the shoreline. Tohru watches as he skips stones across the water. She lights a new firework, and sparks illuminate the curve of his back, the shade of his hair like something that burns. The sparkler burns out gently in her hand. She burns a little bit, too. -- On the last night of summer vacation, Kyo and Tohru light fireworks on the beach at 3 a.m. and avoid the sparks.
