Fics like veil

At first, it made Tohru feel better to have the photo out. It was proof that she’s gotten rid of her ugliest thoughts, a bitter hatred for someone she should love. When she looked at it, she could ignore Uo’s words and just pretend. She should look at the frame and feel happy. Love for her mother; love for her father. Two good, loving parents. One far older than the other—why has she never lingered on that thought before? Torn it open. Investigated its parts. Asked herself why it makes her skin crawl now that she’s older. -- As realizations and memories of her father come back to haunt her, Tohru processes her grief.
