Fics like and every breath we drew was hallelujah

“Anytime, Dave. You know I’d do anything for ‘ya.” Davey feels a surge of warmth pass through his chest at that. He turns to look up at Jack, voice wavering and unsure, and breathes, “Anything?” Jack looks down at him with wide, wide eyes as he surveys his face, trying to decipher the emotions running rampant through Davey’s head. He seems to reach a resolution and nods, and something in his expression shifts, a fierce resolve bleeding into his features. “Anything,” he repeats. Or: Davey deals with reconciling his feelings for Jack with his religious upbringing and self-doubt. Neither of them are disappointed in the outcome.
