Fics like The Polaris Project

Beneath the waves, unbeknownst to the Mollusc Era world, lies the remnants of a long-dead civilization - a people reduced to myth and mystery over millenia. Unfortunately, time wasn't as thorough as the Aquatic people believed, and twelve thousand years after they disappeared, an 'Ancestor' walks the Earth once more. A human-in-Splatoon slow-burn drama set in a post-Splatoon 2 AU. Content warnings in chapter summaries. Features illustrations by FalkenJr.
