Fics like Driftwood

When the Losers organise a get together in a Maine lakehouse, Richie is cautiously looking forward to it. Not only does it mean he gets to see the only people he truly cares about for the first time in a long while, but he also has the chance to ask his best friend what the hell his problem is. See, Eddie has cut him off completely, and Richie wants to know why. It's got nothing to do with the way he wishes he had the guts to tell him how he really feels. He swears. Little does he know that he's been invited for another reason; Eddie is living in the shadow of his fiancée, whilst being plagued with dreams full of an emotion he refuses to acknowledge. This is one last meet-up before he gets married and his life changes. So long as Richie’s not there, Eddie figures he’ll be just fine. Because he promised. The Losers, however, have other ideas. And with Richie’s help, Eddie realises that the feeling he had when he was a kid? He can have that again. He can be brave, he can heal, and maybe – just maybe – he can have what he actually wants. Aka the Losers are homewreckers but everyone's okay with it.
