Fics like There's Something Fishy About Professor Kirkland

The Headmaster steepled his fingers together, piercing him with an icy blue gaze. "Why don't we start your strengths, weaknesses and why you think you're suitable for the job? Perhaps we may find just as suitable an arrangement for you." "...right. So for the most part I specialize in Herbology and Potions, but I'm also fairly knowledgeable in Defense in the Dark Arts." Scotland twiddled his thumbs under the table, desperately thinking of other useful things to add. "I'm actually a bit of a jack of all trades, but my Magical History and Arithmancy is lacking, so, yeah." Why did he say that. Why. What kind of idiot would willingly give their interviewer a reason not to employ them? It wasn't a lie though, all the details were tedious as fuck to remember, what more to teach? He'd be flinging himself off the tower alongside the rest of his class. A story of how Scotland came to Hogwarts with important goals and just kept getting caught up in school drama.
