You could fill a book with everything left unsaid between them; not that Albert’s planning on writing it, but he’s got a fair idea of how he wants it to end. Maybe not with sunshine and roses - some people aren't meant for happy endings, and he’s pretty sure that includes him - but with honesty and hearts laid bare.
