Fics like The monster from the forest

The village is quiet, for as long as the villagers can remember, there are very few visitors. The only newcomers were pillagers or wandering traders, the Iron Golems typically made quick work of the former. It was a lazy and peaceful life for all of them, a life they all thoroughly enjoyed. Lately something has changed however, has interrupted their normal routine, they’ve noticed that the forest is getting steadily smaller. At first the villagers assumed they’d imagined it, or maybe an adventurer accidentally cut down one too many trees. Yet it kept getting smaller and smaller, as the damage got closer to the village, people began acting strangely.
