Fics like The Purest Expression Of Grief.

The old stories call David and Michael gods of death. Nearly four centuries ago, hunters separated them, sealing Michael alive in a silver coffin blessed by the pope and burying him beneath a church at the edge of the sea. David escaped. He has been searching ever since. When Marko finds the location in a notebook disintegrating beneath his hands, David and the boys follow it to a ruined cliff, and the first whisper of static in a mate bond that has been silent for centuries. Michael is still alive. Getting him out of the coffin is only the beginning. The world remembers them as monsters. David remembers the man he loves, and he refuses to let grief be the only thing left of him.
