Fics like Fresh Out Of An Icky, Gooey Womb

“Your words. I’m…I’m too Sky Person to call them my words.” “The words are yours by right,” Tamtey says, “it doesn’t matter how you were raised or by who. You are just as Na’vi as any of us.” Teylan reaches over and takes the radio from Tamtey’s hands. He pushes a button. Nothing happens. “I still remember Mercer being the one to bottle-feed me when Alma was too busy with the rest of you. I was…probably too old to still be on the bottle, but you know me,” Teylan laughs sheepishly, face flushing again, “I was always a late bloomer. And he was…nice. He spoke such sweet words to me. How I was his favorite. He made me feel so special, even back then.” Tamtey remembers that, too, vaguely. Some of the children, namely Teylan and Tamtey and Ri’nela, were still young enough to be in diapers, and Mercer always hated a mess, so it was Alma’s job to change all of them who still needed it. He would always favor Teylan, dragging him away while Alma was busy with the other kids, much to Alma’s chagrin. “It’s not your fault. You were so little.”
